About the event
Straddling abstraction and figuration, Misheck Masamvu’s work confronts power structures and how history resonates in the contemporary moment. A leading figure from Zimbabwe, he envisions painting as a means to reckon with the past while searching for new ways of being in the world. These works expand upon themes introduced in Safety Pin (2023), reflecting a renewed understanding of visual culture in Africa and the enduring impact of colonial legacies.
